This week we studied James 1:2-18. I want to share James 1:2-4 with you an an excerpt from Beth Moore's study.
2. Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, 3. for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. 4. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
Greek word for "perfect" (teleios) describes "that which has achieved or reached its goal, objective, purpose" and, therefore, "full-grown" and "fully developed."James 1:12 Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.
Out of God's astounding grace, a very imperfect person can still receive a delightfully perfect gift precisely because it's perfect for her. God's gifts are given with goals. They're perfect because they're perfecting. They don't just give today. They give toward every tomorrow.
No matter how BIG or small your trials remain steadfast!
Make it a great week!
I have had a tin button for so many years, not sure where it came from. It says "What you are is Gods Gift to you, and what you make of yourself is Your Gift to God"
